Where are you located in Tennessee?
We are located 75 miles west of Knoxville, 90 miles north of Chattanooga and 100 miles east of Nashville.
When are you open?
Our hunting season is open year-round, and we hunt seven days a week, excluding holidays.
How much deposit is required?
A non-refundable, non-transferable $300 deposit is required per hunter.
What is your cancellation policy?
Because Caryonah offers a smaller, intimate setting for lodging, cancellations affect us much more than they would a larger facility. Therefore, deposits are non-refundable. If you must cancel, please give us a 30-day notice. We will work with you to move your vacation to an alternate date.
What type of payments do you accept?
We accept a wide variety of payments. When you make your deposit to secure your reservation, you may pay with a check over the phone, mail a check, money order or cashier’s check or pay with credit card (4% fee). Your balance is due upon arrival. We do not accept personal checks for your final payment. You may pay your balance with cash, money order, or credit card (4% fee).
Are pets allowed at Caryonah?
We do not allow pets on our property. If you are traveling with your pets, we will gladly help you with local boarding options.
What meals are provided?
We serve two (breakfast and lunch) “Tennessee” home-cooked, all-you-can-eat meals per day included in hunt packages.
Are there grocery stores and other shopping nearby?
Visitors will find grocery stores and a wide variety of shopping just minutes away from Caryonah. For groceries and supplies, we have Kroger’s, Food City, Food Lion, Wal-Mart and K-Mart (approx. 15 minutes from our property). Many additional shopping options are also within a 15-minute drive. Head to downtown Crossville for a few locally-owned shops or over to the VF Factory Outlet Mall. You’ll also spot many antique malls in the area along with some exceptional wineries.
Are grills available at the Lodge or Cabin?
Yes, we have a full outdoor kitchen located in our covered pavilion, or you may choose to cook in the open fire pit.
Do you offer a shooting range?
Yes, an archery and rifle range are available on the property.
What methods of hunting are used?
You can stalk, hunt from ground stand, or chase with the dogs (boar only). The choice is yours or you can discuss it with your guide to get recommendations.
What type of hunting terrain should I expect?
Kills are usually made at short range due to thick brush and heavy cover. The average shot is 40 to 50 yards.
Is blaze orange required?
Yes, 500 square inches of blaze orange clothing is required. An orange hat and vest will meet the requirement.
Is fishing available?
Caryonah guests are welcome to fish in the small private lakes located on the property that are stocked with bluegill and bass, at no charge.
Do you offer taxidermy and meat processing?
Yes, we offer both services for an additional charge. The butcher has three cuts to choose from:
Skin & Quarter–$60
Full Cut, Labeled, Vacuum Sealed, and Ready for your Freezer–$160
Full Cut w/Sausage–$200
All Sausage–$220
Taxidermy rates vary depending on the type of animal and mount you choose. Rates start as low as $545.00 The taxidermist requires a 40% deposit and the balance is due when the mount is completed. Feel free to call us for more information and pricing.
