Wild Boar
When hunting wild boar at Caryonah Hunting Lodge you face a breed combination of the Russian wild boar and the famed southern “razorback,” mixing two ornery temperaments into one creature.
Baribroussa Ram
The Babrioussa ram runs in herds, creating power in numbers and touts a large body with an impressive curl in its horn that can get up to 1½ inches.
Corsican Ram
Generally brown in color with a black or white underbody, the Corsican ram carries a long beard or “ruff.” The striking horns of the Corsican can be tightly curled, or may have a wide flare.
Black Hawaiian Ram
A rare species of sheep, the Black Hawaiian’s origins date back to the days of pirates who left these animals on the Hawaiian Islands to enjoy fresh meat on long journeys.
Texas Dall
Texas Dall have magnificent horns that usually curl about 1½ times. Rams are typically white or off-white, and can have a beard.
Angora Goat
Angora goats—named after the Angora region in present day Ankara, Turkey—have remarkable horns and a thick, curly coat of hair called mohair.
Elk
The sound of an elk’s bugle during an early-morning hunt is unparalleled, and an experience that every hunter should have under their belt.
Red Stag
The Red Stag is a formidable beast with numerous tines on both sides. A mature stag has three or more points on the top of the antler creating a “crown.”
Buffalo
An American icon, the buffalo—also known as the American bison—can tower upwards of 6 feet tall and 10 feet long, with an average weight of 1,000 to 1,500 pounds.
Fallow Deer
Fallow deer were originally brought to Great Britain and Ireland for hunting in the “Royal Forests” due to their impressive, broad antlers and palmated spreads.
